COVID-19 Info for Customers Visiting our Café

Relevant information regarding processes and government requirements will be posted here.
3rd January, 2021

We are reopening on the 5th for takeaway only.

You can pre-order here.

As we are currently in "Tier 4" we will be implementing the following precautions to keep everyone safe.
  • DO NOT visit us if you have any COVID-19 symptoms or you are unwell.
  • Limited number of customers allowed inside at any one time. We will have an indoor area to wait for your order when 2m has been marked out. Please queue considerately outside if we are at our maximum.
  • Please wear a face covering, unless exempt, when you are indoors (we'd also advise while you are queuing).
  • All customers must either register their visit using the NHS Covid-19 app or our visitor register (we hold your info for 21 days and only share with NHS Test and Trace if asked, it is then permanently deleted).
  • Please use hand sanitiser on the way in and out of the cafe.
3rd December, 2020

We reopen today to sit in and takeaway customers. Yay!!

As we are currently in "Tier 2" in Oxfordshire the following restrictions apply to us and our customers:
  • Only one household/bubble can meet indoors.
  • Up to 6 people from mixed households can meet outdoors.
  • Face coverings must be worn indoors unless seated.
  • All customers must either register their visit using the NHS Covid-19 app or our visitor register (we hold your info for 21 days and only share with NHS Test and Trace if asked, it is then permanently deleted).
We will also be operating table service as we have been since we reopened after the first lockdown.

When you come in you will be seated by a member of staff and we will give you a menu and tell you about registering your visit for Test and Trace and we may also remind you about the local restrictions regarding meeting others (we are legally obligated to do this).

Hand sanitiser and hand washing facilities are available, please use these and help us to keep Eden a safe place to visit by following the guidance.

Thank you for your ongoing support! 💚

*important updates in bold

From the 6th of July we will be opening with indoor seating and our full menu.

We will be following the Government guidance:
  • Please do not come into the café if you have COVID19 symptoms.

  • We are now required to operate with table service, please wait to be seated when you arrive. This includes outdoor tables.

  • Please follow the markings for queuing safely and do not block the walkway.

  • The Government legally requires us to collect your contact details if you sit in for the purpose of test and trace. We can be fined for not doing so. Please scan the official GOV QR code using the NHS COVID 19 app if you have it.

Your contact info would only be used if required and only shared with the official gov test and trace service – check out our website if you want to see the form to be completed when you visit. www.edencafe.kiwi.

One submission required per household. *Please complete this form every time you visit us as a sit in customer.

  • The Government also requires us to remind customers of the following:
  1. no more than 6 are to meet. indoors or outdoors.
  2. parents/carers are responsible for supervising children.
  3. social distancing should be followed where possible at all times.
  4. do not move tables once you are seated.
  5. if you are able to, please wear a mask until you are seated or when you are moving around the cafe eg. going to the bathroom.

  • Please use card payment, contactless is preferred.

  • Please use hand sanitiser provided, when you enter the café, before you go to the bathroom (before you touch door handles) and as you leave.

  • Please be kind and respect that others may be anxious about being out.

We will have rubbish bins around the café, if you have tissues or baby wipes etc please place them in a bin rather than leaving them on your table.

Speed of service will be impacted by the extra measures we need to take to keep everyone safe. Staff will be adjusting to a completely different way of working too after 3 months away from work so we really appreciate your understanding while we adjust.

We won’t have any magazines, books or toys etc out for use in the café so if you’d like to bring your own please feel free to.

We are not taking reusable hot drink cups at present, all our disposables are compostable.

As we are operating with 50% less seating we ask that customers keep their visit to us to a maximum of around 90 mins. Don’t worry we’re not timing you and obviously if we’re not too busy you’re welcome to stay longer. 🙂

Hope to see you all soon!
